Security for nonstop backup

Thread needs solution

I've been waiting for some time for the new version to come out hoping that it would finally have Password protection and or encryption for the nonstop backup. This is the reason I could not use the last version (13).

I downloaded the new version's trial, and I still see no option to secure the nonstop backup. Did I just miss it or was this left out yet again?

Thanks for any help

No there is no password feature for NSB. I suppose it is assumed the logon to Windows password is sufficient for this kind of backup.

Yes thank you for the response Colin. This is really too bad because everybody knows the Windows login password isn't sufficient enough these days. Especially if you're backing up to an external hard drive which is usually the case.

A solution would be to use a drive that comes with hard drive encryption, such as many of Western Digital's external HDs.

That might be one solution certainly but then wouldn't true image have to support that somehow? Luckily genie timeline Pro 2013 is an amazing nonstop backup program that does have built-in encryption which I've been using for a couple years now. The only reason I'm looking at true image is because I want two different programs backing up all of my stuff simultaneously in the event I lose one.

No. You'd unlock the drive when you connect it to Windows. From then on it remains unlocked as long as it's connected, so NSB wouldn't need to do anything different.
