TI 2013 - "Stage Description"
I'm a WIndows PC consultant and have Acronis 2013 installed on several client's computers. One client makes his backups to an external USB drive and swaps 2 drives periodically, to keep one recent set of backups off-premises.
It seems that TI 2013 has consolidation issues after he swaps drives when TI 2013 can't find his most recent old backups. He gets emails with this error:
"Newbak Task is waiting for user interaction.
Description: Stage Description
Information: Failed to open backup W:\My Backups\Newbak\Newbak_full_b91_s1_v1.tib. Make sure the backup location is accessible and contains all versions of the backup. This backup may also be corrupted.
Details: Click Retry to try to read from the same location. Otherwise, click Cancel to cancel the operation."
In spite of these error message, his backups are valid.
The backup job is called "Newbak". It does full backups only. I tried changing consolidation from "keep all less than 9 days old" to "keep 3 backups". Still get errors. Both drives have the same backup path and are permanently set as "Drive W:" in Windows (to avoid Windows changing the drive letter as it can with drive letters closer to A: - G: or such).
Any ideas?
Thanks All!

I see. Thanks Tuttle - much appreciated.
This will be a bit of a pain, but I can see the necessity. My client will either have to tell me each time he switches so I can remote into his PC and change backups, or I'll have to train him to do it. He's a very busy guy, so unlikely to remember.
I guess I could schedule both backups to run automatically and just ignore the ones that don't work - maybe delete him getting email error messages and monitor things myself remotely - another pain.
I wish that individual full backups didn't require knowledge of previous missing backups and could just ignore missing ones and consolidate those that are available.
Anyway - good to know.
