How to create ghost image copy of DELL XPS 15 (NEW)

Thread needs solution

I am using Acronis True Image 2013 on my dell xps 15 system. I contacted Acronis support to help creating image copy of my system. When I tried to restore from the image copy created, the system got unstable and it started asking for windows disk. I tried all the options but could not succeed. I had to use a linux bootable driveto delete all the partitions and use dell recovery cd to rebuild my system.
I again tried the whole process by creating a fresh backup, but could not succeed again. I am missing someting. can some one walk me through how to create ghost image of the system using Acronis 2013

"Ghost" is a term for an image created by Norton Ghost, so has no applicability here. What you want to do is to create a full disk mode backup image.
See Grover's How to Create/Manage Backup Tasks & Backups within Windows (includes How to Create a "Disk Image" or "Disk Mode" Image or "Disk mode" image & more) http://forum.acronis.com/forum/38691

Is this Windows 7 or Windows 8?
It's hard to know what went wrong for you, as your post lacks detail. I don't know what function you used to backup, what you did to try to restore, etc. Restoring an ATI backup image does not require Windows disks, so I don't know what you did. I have backed up and restored my Dell XPS 15 many times without problem.

Check out the many user guides and tutorials in the left margin of this forum, particularly Getting Started and Grover's True Image Guides which are illustrated with step-by-step screenshots.
In particular, 29618: Grover's new backup and restore guides http://forum.acronis.com/forum/29618
There's also a full on-line user manual, and a downloadable user manual.

Thanks a lot Tuttle.. guess what.. I ask exact same question to one of the customer care representative to help create a "Ghost". But she created a backup in disk mode and screwed by system.
Apart from blaming.. your article is excellent.. I will let you know once I go throught it and implement successfully.

Tuttle,
Do we need to include the 32GB SSD in addition to the 750GB harddisk in the Full Image backup for the DELL XPs 15.
