File Level CDP Manager Service Stopped Working and Was Closed

Thread needs solution

Can anyone advise if they have seen this message. I have deduced it has to do with Acronis, but am not 100% sure. If so, does it mean non-stop backup has stopped? Is there anything that can be done to fix it?

David,

I get the exact same error message you are experiencing every time my system does a backup during the night. I recently upgraded to Acronis True Image Home 2011, and I still get that error message. I looked at the details of the error that is offered by Microsoft when they send an error report back to their company, but I am not software savvy enough to know what is going wrong. It seems to be 2 "tmp" files that occur in the "local_machine" part of my registry. I did not write down the exact error message. (I will write the entire error message on its' next occurrence).  However, if you allow your computer to send error reports back to Microsoft, I'm sure will see the same information. I suppose that I should use the Acronis support department to try to get a resolution to this problem. If you learn anything more that fixes this problem, kindly let me know. Thanks.

I too am getting this same error with True Image Home 2010. CDP Service Manager just hangs and continues to suck up more and more system memory. Has no one found a resolution yet?

I got the "File Level CDP Manager..." error/shutdown message twice now this morning. So I googled it and, low and behold, Acronis Nonstop tops the hit list with postings going back to 2009.

I'm running 2011 so I assume that Acronis has been unable to fix this problem since then.

Out of fear of file system corruption I will shutdown Nonstop and return to regular backup schedules. I advise other Acronis users to do the same.

Hello all,

Thank you very much for your posts. I will definitely assist you.

We have released an update for the Nonstop backup module which can resolve such issues.

I would really appreciate if you can check the following article and update it. After that, if the issue persists, please contact our Support team with the diagnostic information posted in the same article.

Please note, this workaround is available for Acronis True Image 2011 Home only.

If you need additional assistance please let me know.

Thank you.

Ok, I downloaded the tool, installed it, rebooted and got the same error. I sent off the diagnostic information it collected, so I hope that helps, but the tool's patch didn't fix my problem so I'm back to standard backups rather than nonstop backups.

Good luck with this!
