Operation paused hh:mm:ss PM Waiting for shutdown
Message:
"True Image Operation paused.
hh:mm:ss PM
Waiting for shutdown. If you do not make a decision, the computer will be automatically shut down in 30 seconds."
Computer does not shut down after the above message appears. As soon as I move the mouse pointer, then the computer shuts down.
Would like it to automatically shut down.

My suggestion would be to disable the shutdown option inside TrueImage and use my alternate suggestion located in link 1 below, index item 1-RA "Alternate method to shutdown

In 2013, I had good luck using Dennis Babkin's TOff utility to get a customized shutdown after True Image activity. I used used it the same way as in link 1 index item 1-RA "Grover's Alternate method to shutdown computer after backup if the normal TI shutdown has issues. "

Les,
TOFF is a very interesting link. I was not aware of that website.

I cannot remember the exact situation, but what I think I found was that sometimes AITH 2013 would try to run the shutdown when it was finished doing its task, but would not be successful, or the next step in the AITH process would wake it back up or keep it from shutting down.
So, what I would do is set a post-command task in ATIH for TOff with its command line parameters to shut down the computer in two or three minutes. ATIH would call TOff, then ATIH would finish up what it was doing, then TOff, having been previously called would shut down Windows as desired.
Also, if you find that ATIH doesn't wake your computer to run a backup, and you can't figure out how to get Windows to do it on its own with an empty scheduled task, Babkin's WakeUpOnStandby http://dennisbabkin.com/wosb/ might get the job done.

Thank you all for your helpful suggestions.
By trial and error I learned that if I turned off scheduled backups and started the backup manually with the "Shut down after completion" box checked, it works just fine. I'm happy with that.
Merry Christmas!
