TrueImage 2013 on Windows 7 mouse dead in F11 and bootable CD

When I use 'F11 at boot' or bootable CD, it boots to the main screen and a mouse arrow is at the center, but the mouse is totally unresponsive. Crude, marginal keyboard navigation is possible, but why can't I use the mouse?

I ran into a similar issue, it ended up being my gamepad (joystick) causing an issue. My suggestion would be to remove any attached USB devices to your computer except for the keyboard and mouse; that is what worked for me. Best of luck!
