Windows 7 500GB drive near death -> Acronis PLUS PACK any help?

Thread needs solution

Win7 500GB drive is failing (Event Viewer) throwing warnings of disk failure.
Ran chkdsk /f /r after a few hours it came back "clean" and I did not see errors from the screen. (did not check the log)
Doing a "disk" backup with Acronis 11 having been told that the PLUS PACK with Acronis Bootable Media would allow bare metal recovery to a disk of a different size. I am moving to a 2GB drive.
When the backup is finished, the plan is to remove the faulty drive and install the 2GB, boot the Acronis Bootable Media, locate the "disk" backup and I hope there is a "restore" button some where in there.
1. Any suggestions, warnings, etc?
2. What does the Plus Pack really do for me?
Thank you.

You most likely posted to a wrong forum section - should be "True Image - older versions"
"Different hardware" when Plus Pack is useful means different disk controller, motherboard, etc. Hard disk of different size doesn't require it, and True Image alone will be enough.
