ATI 2014 doesn`t work on Rocketraid 2010 and SSDs

Thread needs solution

I have an Rocketraid 2010 Raid Controller with 4 SSDs (250GB each) running in raid 0 mode under Windows 8. Craeting the image works perfect, because it runs under Windows 8. If you want to restore drive C, you have to reboot and ATI runs in DOS mode. ATI doesn`t find the raid 0, it recognizes all 4 SSDs as singel drives and so the restore fails. I even can`t write back the MBR, because it get an write error, sector not writetable. This is logical, because he doesn`t find the raid 0 as a complete virtuall SSD. So the sector he has to write doesn`t exist and this produces the write error.

My opinion is, the ATI 2014 doesn`t support rocket raid products. So please fix this, otherwise your programm is useless.

Hi Larry:

I experienced similar problems backing up my SSD using ATI 2014 to a networked My Book World Edition II and also to a USB 3 connected drive. In both cases it indicated the backup work fine but verification said the data was corrupt. Had to fall back to ATI 2013 which worked however I had no luck gettting a download from Acronis of 2013 and the 30 day free tech support could not be reached.

I'm now looking for an alternative: backup that doesn't work with support that doesn't exist is not what I need.

When running Acronis in what you call DOS mode, Acronis does not have the necessary drives to access Rocketraid. What you would need to do this is a WinPE disks that contains the drivers for the raid and the Acronis files as well.
