Disk / Partition confusion;

Thread needs solution

My apologies if this (probably rather basic) topic has been explained elsewhere...

I'm using True Image 2014 Premium "Disk & partition Backup" to back up a laptop to external USB drives, but I'm confused by what disks / partitions I should be backing up.

The laptop is Win 7 & has two 750 GB HDD's & an 8GB SSD, with the disks / partitions being described in Disk Management as;

Disk 0:- System 100Mb, C: 337GB, D: (temp-part01) 336GB, 25GB Recovery.

Disk 1:- 7.46GB

Disk 2:- E: (Temp_part01) 674GB, 25GB recovery.

Partitions D: & E: would both appear to be empty.

If I'm doing full backup's should I be marking all disk's / partitions for backup or only Disk 0:

Thanks for any advice!

If performing a full system backup all disk should be marked for backup.

Martin,
I am assuming that your question relates to what parts of your win7 disk should be included within the backup.

If you want your backup to be able to create a replacement disk--should your current disk fail or you need to overwrite the existing disk,
I agree with Bob's posting in the preceding posting but to illustrate that selection.
click on signature link 2 below and look at the very first picture or illustration .
You want to create a "disk image" (or disk mode image" so that all partitons (both lettered and unlettered) of the win 7 disk is included.

You may also find want to totally review link 2 and the first parts of link 3.
