No complete Backup

Thread needs solution

The Harddisks of the vm I want to backup a splitted to two different datastores. One Harddisk of 270GB (Datastore 2) is not backed up. The error is:
5 Information 03.11.11 19:40:12 Hinzufügen der virtuellen Festplatte '[ds-local-2] W2K8-R2-SRVTX02/W2K8-R2-SRVTX02_1.vmdk' zu '1:3'.

The Harddisk is not a Raw-Device. I think the problem is that all snapshot informations are created in Datastore 1. On Datastore 1 are only 150GB free space.
Is this the problem?

The other problem is that in the log the folowing message comes:
Task 'Backup 06.10.2011 17:36:54' erfolgreich abgeschlossen auf Maschine 'AcronisAppliance'.

This shows me, that the backup finished without problems but the one Harddisk is not backed up.

What can I do?

Best Regards
Sven

I have made a new test. I migrated all Harddisks to Datastore and there are 550GB free of Space. But there is the same Problem.
Thee free space on the Datastore is not the problem.

Try making a snapshot of the VM using the VMWare tools (VSphere etc). You will probably get a more useful message about what the problem is.

I made a snapshot with vSpehre Client over a vCenter Server without problems.
I startet again a Bavkup and I looked at the status messages in vSphere Client. vmProtect creates the snapshopt and than the Appliance add the disk. In the eventlog of the AcronisAppliance I the a see a more useful message:
"The destination file system does not support large files"

My destination is a server with NTFS formatted disks. There is enough free space on this disk and I have some other .tib Files I made with Acronis Advanced Workstation of ~200 GB of size. I don't know why that should not work?

Any ideas?

I found the problem.
I searched the web about the error "The destination file system does not support large files" and found the KB article http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1012384

I thinked the there are no problems with my virtual machine becase the snapshot is created and now the complete virtual machine is on a datestore with more free space as the largest virtual disk of my VM. So I moved the AcronisAppliance to my second Datastore. This is the Datastore where my VM is stored and there is enough free space. Now the backup is running for all virtual disks.

In Datastore browser I see that the snapshot files are created in the folder of my VM. The delta and redo files are created in the folder of AcronisAppliance. I don't know if this is correct and I hope that Acronis can say something about that ?????

Hi Sven, just to follow up on this, how were you able to fix this issue if I may ask?
