Universal Restore on dissimilar hardware

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I wanted to retore a backup to a another PC with different hardware. I've shown the path to motherboard drivers in Universal Restore but about 66% Acronis said that it needs my intervention, it couldn't find 3 drivers:

PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4396&SUBSYS_73021462&REV_00
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4397&SUBSYS_73021462&REV_00
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4399&SUBSYS_73021462&REV_00

After this system tried too boot but it fails at a moment, I've tried 2 more times to restore but same situation. Now I've decided to install a fresh Windows 7 after doing this I've copied "C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository" folder to my backup place and decided to restore again the previous backup that faild and showing in Universal Restore the path to "C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository" and again it didn't find those 3 drivers.

What I'm doing wrong ? Can Universal Restore take drivers from C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository ?

Thank you.

Hi Eugen,
Retrieving the right drivers and using the right format is something that is some time tricky.
I'm going to share an old plumber's secret with you so as to make it easy to achieve this operation.
Download Double Driver which is a software that can backup all the drivers on the target machine.

Backup your drivers (target machine) using the ''stuctured folders'' option so as to end up with the right driver format.
Finally, put the created folder on a USB flash drive and point to it when prompted to indicate the driver folder path during the restore process.
Caution: Don't click the big ''Start Download'' button.Click ''Download'' alongside ''Website'' instead.
