Acronis 2013 (Build 6528) Destruction of MFT

Thread needs solution

Windows/8 (Toshiba Satellite)
Passport Drive (2TB) in computer
Under windows, create a subdirectory so I have D:\Backup\2011_1111

Then shutdown computer
Boot from CD ROM Acronis 2013 Build 6528
Attempt backup of PC's hard drive to Passport
Go to directory D:\Backup\2011_1111
Select system generate name
Change it to something else such as PC13
Get message saying invalid file number.
Attempt to correct, even use system generated name.
Nothing works.

Reboot and try again.
Now it doesn't recognize the name of the drive or any directories.

Reboot and go to windows.
Drive is "D:\ is not accessible. The file or directory is corrupt and unreadable."

CHKDSK hangs in read-only mode.

Drive is now "RAW" in disk management.

This is the second time in a month that this has happened.

Any ideas?

No longer use Acronis to back up directly to a critical removable drive.

Will backup to a spare removable disk drive then copy later.

Must advise colleagues and clients accordingly until a solution is provided.

Okay ... I can avoid the problem if the bootable Acronis doesn't create any follders on the drive containing the .tib file.
