Using Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5, is there a way to create a backup partition on the image.

We have Acronis Backup and Restore 11.5. I need to find out if that version of Acronis can do a Universal Restore type of function. Ideally I would like to be able to boot up to a factory image and restore the machine.

Hi Joshua,

If you have a copy of "Acronis Backup and Recovery 11.5" that is still in support/maintenance you can download the latest build of the product which is now called "Acronis Backup 11.5".

Acronis now include the "Universal Restore" option by default in this new build of the product, once installed you can goto Help --> About to confirm from the management console.

In regards to your restore method, with Acronis Backup you can restore your system to a previous state using any one of your backup files without having to boot/restore the system to a 'factory image' first. You can simply boot your system using the Acronis boot CD and select which backup file to restore from.

Acronis also offer a feature called Secure zone, which will allow you to save your backup in a hidden partition on your system if this is something you are interested in doing this will be a good resource for your needs:
