Runtime error with TI 9.1.0.3887

Thread needs solution

Recently, on two machines, TI causes the runtime error "This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application Support team for more information".

Both machines run TI home 9.1.0.3887 on XP-pro-SP2-plus-all-patches.
*Exactly three weeks ago, TI on both machines worked perfectly*
Checking paths according to kb.acronis.com/de/content/1671 but did not solve the issue.

Hello kicks,

Thank you for using Acronis True Image

In order to investigate the issue I would recommend you open a new support case using the following link http://www.acronis.com/support/index.html and attach the following diagnostic information:

1)      Dr. Watson Crash Dumps as described in this KB article

2)      Sysinfo

- Open Start\Programs\Accessories\System Tools\System Information;

- Choose the "Save" option in the "File" menu (or "Action" menu under Windows 2000), enter the "File name" and set the field "Save as type" to "System Information File (*.NFO)".

Was this ever resolved. Noticed today that I got the same error with TI 10.0 v4142. Last backup was on Oct. 6, 2009, whichi coincides with the problems you have. Probably related to incompatibility with a Microsoft update.

Please let me know.
Thanks.

Hello RJD,

Could you please let us know how exactly your task is configured, what you are tried to back up and where did you save the created archive?

Additionally, please gather crash dump as Dmitry requested in previous forum post and attach it to your reply.

We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience.

Thank you.

The application program TrueImage program (TI10.0 v.4142) no longer starts. The TI GUI appears on the screen but there is a separate window that states:

"Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program: C:\Program Files\Acronis\TrueImageHome\TrueImage.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unsual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.
OK"

I have not touched the C++ runtime libraries. I have always kept my system up to date with Microsoft patches and installed all recommened high-priority updates. I'm running WXP Prof. SP3.

I appreciate your support and hope that this issue can be resolved rather than upgrading to the current version (TI2010).

PS. I'm saving the images onto a second IDE harddrive. But, as I said, the TI10 won't even start which shall be resolved first.

Regards, Roger.
