Windows 8.1 Event log - Event 10010, DistributedCOM

Thread needs solution

Hi,

Been trying to find resolution to an issue currently experienced with Acronis True Image 2014.

Every so often the Event log reports multiple (sometime many even hundreds) errors as follows:

- The server {1EF75F33-893B-4E8F-9655-C3D602BA4897} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.

A search of REGEDIT indicates that "ti_managers_proxy.DLL" matches the above code.

I am unable to get rid of these errors, and on some occasions TI actually crashes explorer.

I have disabled the following but the errors remain:
- Acronis Nonstop Backup Service
- Acronis Sync Agent Service

I have done a repair on the TI install but still the error remains.

Would really appreciate some assistance to resolve this error and the unfortunate occasional circumstances where TI crashes explorer.

Thanks
Peter

This is a user account permissions error

A possible work around for the issue, do the following:

Copy the value from the Event log and search for it in the registry:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\

An example of the value is 2C5DFFB3-472F-11CE-A030-00AA00339A98;
Once found, copy the AppID and search for it in the registry. This will give you the name of the application that needs to have the permissions.

Grant the permissions as described in Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 899965.

This procedure describes a Windows XP machine but should apply to Vista, Win 7 as well.
