Bad sectors
Hello,
I have had issues for the last few days. The first backup slows to a halt at around 72%.
I investigated, and it appears there are bad sectors, which even with the Ignore option on, completely slow down the system to unusable status...
Looking at the log (2013) I got directed to this BUG:
https://kb.acronis.com/content/37280
I'm very skeptical of bad sectors on my drive for 2 reasons:
1. Its a OCZ SSD 240GB Vertex3
2. It acts as if it were a physical drive (the slow 'retrieval' of bad sectors)
There is an inconsistency in the log. It says "failed to read sector 'xxx, xxx, xxx' of hard disk '1'." However my drive being read (backed-up) is disk '0' according to my Windows Disk Management. I did have some issues with the target drive, and that one is disk '1'....
Which is right? I have reinstalled 2013. I have upgraded to 2014.
In version 2013, after shutdown and restart - there was an error box and it directed me to:
https://kb.acronis.com/content/37280
In version 2014, either that error box is gone, either I stop the backup too early... as the last entries are the "failed to read sector 'xxx, xxx, xxx' of hard disk '1'."
Running OCZ tests says drive is perfect....
Most importantly, should I look at source drive '1' or destination drive '1'.
The system becomes very unresponsive while Acronis is reading errors, but that would be the case for either drives...
Thanks for help
