I am experiencing the same problem with the another user in the following thread: http://forum.acronis.com/forum/6518

My Acronis True Image 2009 is not able to detect USB keyboard and mouse on a HP DX2810 Mini Tower and SFF. I had upgraded my True Image to 2010 expecting the problem to be resolved in the updated version , the bootable CD still has the same problem.

However, i realised that once i plugged in a P/S2 keyboard together with USB keyboard and mouse and boot up using the bootable CD created, the USB keyboard and mouse will be able to function.

Following the thread starter of the above mentioned thread, i downloaded the ISOLINUX version of the bootable cd from my account, USB keyboard and mouse is able to work without the presence of a P/S2 keyboard. But however, i am not able to install the Acronis Startup Recovery Manager with the error "The files required for activating Acronis Secure Zone are not available. Please insert the bootable CD or try to run Acronis True Image Home from Windows."

The Acronis Startup Recovery Manager was able to install using the bootable CD created but after pressing F11, Acronis Startup Recovery Manager does not detect the USB keyboard and mouse without the presence of a P/S2 keyboard.

This had actually defeated the purpose to trying to get Acronis to work with USB keyboard and mouse only as the USB keyboard and mouse default comes with the PC. I am trying to setup the HP DX2810 to be able to recover using the Acronis Startup Recovery Manager.

Please advise if there is any workaround to this issue? To get Acronis Startup Recovery Manager to be able to work with USB keyboard and mouse on a HP DX2810 machine.

No worries, I will help you with this situation.

The issue with keyboard detection was resolved by using ISO file because it based on another loader and has some extended list of drivers. But as soon as you switched to Startup Recovery Manager, you've experienced the same issue, because the component uses the same loader as your first CD (not created from ISO). Unfortunately, current version of the product does not allow you to update or replace the drivers in Startup Recovery Manager. So the best solution here would be to use the ISO you downloaded from our website.

Kevin, you will find that nowadays most users do not use the SRM. If you keep your backup Images on another hard drive, external or internal as the majority of users do, the SRM is not required.
