Hello Gerard,

Thank you for using [[http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/ | Acronis True Image]]

You can specify the credentials at the bottom of the Scheduling window of the Backup Wizard (Run with credentials boxes).

The program requires Windows authorization for a task execution. That is why you should enter your account name and password both to let Acronis True Image log in to Windows with Administrator's rights and execute a task.

The procedure is obligatory, and you are not able to miss it.

In other words, you should leave the username generated by our software and type the password you use to log in to Windows. If you don't have a password to log in to Windows, you should leave the password fields empty.

Thank you.

oleg
if ur still out there
it still wont accept my logon password as legit!
will special characters affect this?...i dont want to change my password to a less secure one
Thanks

Hello Tyra Gai,

Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response.

Let me help you with the issue.

Actually, any special characters shouldn't affect the credentials, you're able to use any of those characters in your password. However, if the issue still persists, I may suggest you to update Acronis Scheduler module to fix this issue.

Please do the following:

  1. Download Acronis Scheduler, which is a special utility to update the scheduler service:

  2. Extract the downloaded file and run install.bat. The utility will automatically update the service;

    See if the issue is resolved. If it is not, then please proceed with steps 3 and 4:

  3. Reboot the machine;
  4. Recreate the scheduled tasks.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Thank you.
