Problem with True Image Home 2010

Thread needs solution

I recently upgraded to 2010. I have 2 copies of the software. One is installed on my desktop machine and works fine. The 2nd copy is on my laptop and thats the one I having a problem. Every time I start True Image it opens the home page and pops a box on the screen that says Processing... and it locks up. I have to use task manager to kill the program. I haven't set up any backup schedules and the previous schedules that were in the previous version I deleted before I updated the product. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the software at least twice without a change in the problem. Any suggestions to fix this problem?

Here are three suggestions to try:

Disable Distributed Link Tracking Client

Delete restore points

Delete old log copies.

The first is the most likely cause.

I tried the first. Still left up the processing dialog box.

Couldn't do the 2nd I have XP and not Vista.

I deleted the logs there was only one size 2k.

Unfortunately none of these worked, do you have any further suggestions?

Edward:

As a test, try turning XP System Restore off temporarily. This will clear all restore points.

Go to Control Panel > System > System Restore tab:

Clearing the restore points didn't make any changes in the problem.

Any other suggestions?

No, sorry. One of the above suggestions has usually worked for solving this issue. You should contact Acronis Support via Live Chat on their web site for further troubleshooting.

You might also want to check on any security suites or system utilities that you have on your laptop. Acronis has compatibility issues with some programs. There are issues with Norton 360 for example and I believe Lenova has a backup program that sometimes causes a conflict. Try disabling the security and utility programs to see if they are an issue.
