I actually like ATI 2015 more than any other ATI version...

Thread needs solution

I bet I will be called a troll for such a lame first post that goes against most forum members' opinions. I have been FORCED to use ATI ever since 2012 or so simply because it was and still is the only backup software that allows you to exclude files and folders from system disk backup images. Other packages only have the option to do file and folder backup manually, but they don't allow complete OS disk backup with ability to exclude folders. I'm a gamer, but I don't want to backup game installations, so with ATI I can easily exclude game installation folders.

I find ATI 2015 to be the best version so far simply because I was never a power-user and I agree with developers about how other functions were not vital/needed for most people I guess. I think forum members here represent power users, who's needs and wants differ from the majority of ATI owners.

I thought ATI 2014 had a cluttered interface with way too many options I was never going to use. I also had issues with my backups being corrupt! Additionally, I was forced to create bootable media to restore my backups! With ATI 2015 its a completely opposite experience. The UI is streamlined and easily takes you exactly where you need to be to perform the backup and to change the settings. There is no cluttering, no complexity, just flowing from one window to another. I also didn't have to create any bootable media when I needed to restore my backup. All I did was press RESTORE button and my PC restarted, took me into ATI Backup Restore instead of Windows booting up, and 2 minutes later I was back in Windows with all the backup material PERFECTLY restored, unlike ATI 2014 that resulted in PC not booting.

I find it so funny when I see people here disliking ATI 2015 because they hated Windows 8 with its Metro UI. Metro UI can be disabled almost entirely with Classic Shell or Start8. Once you do that, you end up with the fastest and most optimized OS MS has released to date, beating Windows 7 even in resource management.

I wonder if ATI 2015 issues affect those who installed ATI 2015 on top of 2014 instead of a fresh new install, which is what I have done after recently re-installed Windows 8.1 Pro x64 with all the updates.

Anyway, I find ATI 2015 to be truly the fastest, most responsive, easiest to use, most reliable, best-looking, clutter-free, useless-function-free, and enjoyable ATI version to date. Call me crazy, but I like it and I was absolutely shocked when I saw so much negativity on these forums. I also think that its all that negativity that hyped people up about how bad ATI 2015 is. I'm not even going to go into how poorly maintained computers and OS can create all kinds of problems, for which ATI is needlessly blamed.

BUT.., I would much rather prefer to AOMEI Backupper or other software packages to ATI 2015 if ONLY it allowed me to exclude files and folders from system disk backups, but it doesn't allow me to do that, so once again I am ATI-stuck... If anyone knows of software other than ATI that can do that and work perfectly with Windows 8.1 - please let me know!

I agree with you and have said so in many posts, so well done for standing up to be counted, I don't think people realise that traditionally a forum is a place for people with issues, if you count the number of users having problems here it is not that many, of course you would need to know how many copies of the software are being used to give a percentage of problems and Acronis are not going to divulge their sales of the product.

Anyway moving on, yes I too have no issues and given I have a schedule set for once a week it works and it is not my function to use the program every day if not more like some seem too.

It is not so bad as many user say. My friends like it and don't want to downgrade to the the previous versions or replace it with other imaging products. Acronis should fix all bugs and bring back some features like ,,Try & Decide,,.
