Trying to restore backup

I have a new HDD in my PC and want to restore the system from my Acronis backup. I bought Acronis 2015 so that I would have the universal recovery tool. When I boot using the rescue disk, however, Acronis does not see the external drive where the backup is (the 2014 version did). How can I fix this? I'm desperate to get this system restored.

Frustration level climbing.... I've created universal bootable media and booted with it. I have NO idea what to do next. Is there a tutorial somewhere on this?
