afcdp.sys causing BSODs: Windows 8.1 (Update) (64-bit) Acronis 2015 Premium (and 2014)

Thread needs solution

I keep getting BSODs resulting in following Minidump (My system: Windows 8.1 Update (64-bit) with Acronis 2015, but get the same BSODs when reverting to Acronis 2014. Originally, when first installing Acronis 2014 just over a year ago, I had no problems with the program at all. The issue discussed here started about a week ago. (More detail is posted beneath the following copy of the mini-dump)

(The Mini dump below reveals that the exception is being thrown due to afcdp.sys, which is the Acronis File Level CDP Kernel Helper driver.)

BSOD mini-dump:

KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (1e)

This indicates that a kernel-mode program generated an exception which the error handler did not catch.

The exception is being thrown due to afcdp.sys, which is the Acronis File Level CDP Kernel Helper driver.

Turning off nonstop backup resolves the issue until it is turned on again. This happens with Acronis 2015 and Acronis 2014 (I have un-installed and re-installed both of these in attempt to solve the problem). the afcdp.sys file (in both Acronis 2014 and Acronis 2015) is dated 2011 and has (apparently) remained unchanged in all versions of Acronis since 2011. Any advice as to what to do (since I would obviously not like to leave nonstop backup turned off(!)?
