Backup COmputer Question

Thread needs solution

I have two questions:

When I choose backup my ENTIRE PC, does Acronis backup both of my hard drives? I have a separate system drive and data drive.

Is there a way to view what is in the content of the backups (like files explorer)?

Thanks,
George

Look at your system via the Windows Disk Management Graphical view.

Confirm for yourself whether the "data drive" is truly a separate disk (probably disk 1); or
is the data drive just a separate partition shown on the same Disk as the Windows partition.

If the data disk is listed as the 2nd disk (disk 1), then NO, it is not included;
but if the data disk is just another partition along with Windows on Disk0,
then yes, it would be included.

One easy method to see what is within the backup, it to double cliclk on the tib file labelled full and click your way down the listing of what is included.

I recently purchased True Image 2015 but am unable to make it work. When I try to make a backup I get the error message "Unable to create volume snapshot". I haven't been able to get past that point. I uninstalled the program and re-installed in twice but got the same result.

Register your serial number (if you have not already done so--signature link 9 below) with your Acronis webpage and then contact Acronis support (upper right corner this webpge) via their "Live Chat" option.

One possibility would be to start the program via Run as Administration mode.

I'm having the same problem ("Errors out with Unable to create volume snapshot"). I've followed the instructions in KB 48686 to change the two settings from Manual to Automatic, I've uninstalled and re-installed Acronis True Image 2015 and I've ensured that I am the Administrator of this PC (which isn't shared with anyone). I still get the same error. All of this is for a laptop with a Samsung 840 EVO SSD.

My second laptop has a smaller capacity Samsung 840 EVO SSD and I got Actonis to work with that one by following the steps outlined above. Does anyone have additional thoughts on this, or is it time for me to contact Acronis Support? (Thanks).

I finally bit the bullet and contacted Acronis support (chat). It took awhile. They used "Team Viewer" to control my machine. The key to the fix was to disable volume shadow copy service. Everything seems to be working now as it should. Hope this helps!
