Does Acronis affect Volume Shadow Copy service?

Thread needs solution

For 6 weeks on my new Win 8.1 computer, I've been losing system restore points on a regular basis and get shadow copy aborted messages and something turns off Volume Shadow Copy service. Does Acronis TI 2014 on non-stop backup affect this?

Hello Tom,

Acronis True Image 2014 doesn't use Volume Shadow Copy service; it is use only by Acronis business software.

However, this article might be helpful by troubleshooting VSS issues.

Thank you.

Still using Acronis Image 2014 and still getting Volsnap errors and having System Restore points wiped out on an irregular basis. Comparing the time the volsnap errors occur with Nonstop Backup starting, ALL the volsnap errors occur a few seconds round the time NSB starts (but not all NSB starts result in a volsnap - in fact, most don't). This is quite a coincidence if Acronis is really not doing it. Any ideas? See the examples below

In the Event Log for NSB, most days are OK with a green tick, but  lots also have Error crosses on the same day as a green tick and an occasional one only has the Error cross. What does this mean and what causes it? - no messages saying what the error is.

OK - I've solved why they occur together - they all seem to be during starts or restarts of the computer!

But can you tell me why I have so many red Error crosses in the log?
