Disappointed so far

I downloaded Acronis True Image 2015 last night after being sick of having my computer unusable for 2 days every month while doing a backup with Microsoft backup. I'm running Windows XP and backing up to a separate SATA drive.
The good news is that ATI is blazing fast as recommended by people I trust, but oh my god, the user interface!! It reminds me of the DOS days when every company came up with their own. Acronis, Windows provides a UI framework, you should use it.
Okay, on to specifics.
- Page 14 of the user guide section 2.1.1 under "How to Create a a backup of my system" it says "on the sidebar, click "Backup". Well there is nothing labeled "Backup" on the sidebar. It just has 6 icons. After puzzling over this a little I found that if I hover over the one with 3 rectangles, then I get a "Backup" popup. Okay, First problem solved.
- I ran a backup and it completed overnight. Awesome!
- Today I went to restore files.... by clicking on "backup"???? that is the most counter-intuitive thing I've ever seen.
- After clicking backup it showed icons of the two disks I backed up. Ckicking them to expand the tree did nothing. I clicked some more.... and some more.... eventually the D drive did expand one level, but only one. I shut down ATI and restarted it. Now it exanded all the way.
But here comes the show stopper bug: after expanding the directory tree 4 levels deep, the directory names and icons are hidden off right edge of the pane and there is NO WAY TO SCROLL THE PANE. This makes the program unusable.
I definitely won't buy the program unless I can resolve this. Help!
Other things:
- Window? What window? The window has no border whatsoever. This is very distracting.

Thanks for the reply. I understand how to recover files. My point there is that the user interface is bad because to RECOVER files, you start by clicking on BACKUP.
But the real problem is further down in my original post:
after expanding the directory tree 4 levels deep, the directory names and icons are hidden off right edge of the pane and there is NO WAY TO SCROLL THE PANE. This makes the program unusable.
In other words, I can't select files if they are more than about 4 levels deep in the directory tree because there is no way to scroll the tree horizontally.

You just need to move the separation bar to the right.
