Problem creating image from network with B&R 10
Good morning, i need to create a backup copy of a folder placed in another computer.
The problem is that creating an image of network share, acronis doesn't use the disk driver so it uses the windows api to copy the file.
When acronis try to copy an "OPENED" file, the backup process fails and i haven't the backup completed.
how can i "SKIP" opened files to complete the backup?
Thank you.

I already done this, but backup fails at the first opened file.

Hello Emanuele De Amicis,
Thank you very much for replying.
I am terribly sorry for the inconvenience. I can recommend recreating this scheduled task from scratch with the silent mode enabled or make sure that the open files are closed.
Please let me know if you have additional questions and I will definitely help you.
Thank you.

If the files are closed i have no problems. but i need to backup user profiles, and also if a user log off from the computer or server, the operating system keeps some files open (like user registry ntuser.dat). Will be possible in the future to SKIP theese files in future releases?
if not i have to buy another software for network folders.
the real problem is that i have SERVER1 that is a terminal server, i have a license of B&R here. the SERVER2 is a SBS 2008 (domain controller), i have anoter license here. I create images for both server on a NAS without problems. in the SERVER2 i have a DAT, my customer wants backups also in this format, but i cannot buy another dat for SERVER1. I cannot use the DAT on SERVER2 on SERVER1 so i need to backup shared folders placed on SERVER1.
so i need one of theese 2 solutions.
1) skip opened files for backup on shared folders
2) use the DAT placed on SERVER2 by B&R installed on SERVER1
thank you

Hello Emanuele De Amicis
Thank you very much for replying.
At the moment I have no information regarding this feature in future releases of our software. However, I shall create a Customer Listening Case and forward it to our Development team.
I am afraid that the only workaround at the moment is to run the backup in silent mode. Did you try recreating the scheduled task and see if the open files are skipped?
Let me know if you have additional queries.
Thank you.

yes, i tried it, i really tried everything. it doesn't work, in silent mode it don't asks for user interaction but just fails the backup... i think the "SKIP" funciont can be very important. For instance if i need to backup files located into a standard NAS disk (not a computer), i cannot install B&R agent into it.
