Automatic Cleanup Not Working

Thread needs solution

I am backing up to a local external hard drive each night.

I tried using "Single Version Scheme" but HDD space fill up after 4-5 backups and then new backups fail. I tried switching to "Full Scheme" with "Automatic Cleanup" enabled while selecting "Store no more than 1 recent version" however Acronis never removes/deletes old backups, the HDD fills up, and then new backups fail.

I am not sure how to properly configure Acronis so older backups on the external drive are deleted in an automated manner. The interface of Acronis True Image 2015 is very simple and straight forward so I am not sure what I am doing incorrectly. I cannot keep manually deleting old backups as there has to be a way to make Acronis delete them.

Can someone please advise how to properly configure Acronis so it deletes older backups from my external HDD automatically?

Thank you,
Brian

I would start with a new task. When you modify the backup scheme or the retention settings, you have often unexpected results.

If the problem subsists with a new task, uninstall, reboot and reinstall.

I assume that the backups are stored on a local or USB disk. Let us know if this is not correct.
