Hello,

Let me clarify this situation for you.

You should copy your MBR for all cases if you want to restore the system to some clean drive or to another drive. It's not necessary to copy it only if you're going to recover the same system to the same drive.

However, such method of dual boot organization is not correct - restored system will just copy your original one, without adding the necessary information to boot files.

I can provide you with the instructions on how to create dual boot, could you please clarify the exact names of OS's you're going to boot?

Additionally to this, you are welcome to ask me any other questions concerning Acronis, and I will assist you further.

We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience.

Thank you.

but i only see the MBR for the dynamic disk (second hard drive). My first hard drive does not show a MBR for any of the partitions?

The first hard drive is the one with my OS. (again there is no MBR on drive one, only on dynamic drive 2 which is used for data)
