[Case 00573967] New full backup causes corrupt differentials
Last Wednesday I submitted a case (Case 00573967) via the Acronis website. It has been a full week and I have gotten no response, and we continue to have issues.
We have Acronis True Image Echo Server installed on 4 of our servers. The issue happens on all of them, but the server I submitted the case about is running build 8,398 - the latest build as of last week.
The backups are set as such:
- One full backup every wednesday pointing to a "backup.tib" file.
- On all other days perform a differential backup, also pointing to the same .tib file.
What happens is that the diffs work fine until the next wednesday. Once the new full backup runs, the differentials become corrupt. As such, on Thursday morning we can only go back one day instead of being able to go back one week.
We have tried to configure biweekly backups but have failed. In Acronis it is possible to say backup every two weeks, and configure two backups to run every two weeks, but you cannot specify which two weeks (so you can't alternate the backups).

It is. But that's just the problem - Acronis provides no way of scheduling the backup jobs in a way that make sense. If I was able to setup biweekly jobs then this wouldn't be an issue.
