Thread needs solution

Build 6525. I backed up in January (successful) and 2-3 days ago, using a WD My Passport Ultra which I had wiped almost clean (because I was told that I should delete almost all the software on the external disk). This time (using "clone") backup took about an hour and there were no results--the "my backup" folder was empty. I tried backing up again and the program was unable to do so. I would like to start fresh with a new external hard disk. Is there a way I can get Acronis back to the beginning (using my product code) so I can start over?

Can Acronis create a backup on another disk? If yes, your disk might be the issue indeed. You can use the DISKPART command to clean the disk, then create a new volume and format it using Windows disk management.
If no, I would uninstall and reinstall Acronis.
