Backup comment in Acronis True Image 2015 18.0 for PC Build 6525: How do I access it afterwards?

Thread needs solution

Good Day,

RE: Acronis True Image 2015 18.0 for PC Build 6525
OS: Windows 8.1 Pro (Fully patched)

I have entered a Comment while doing a Backup (System Disk Image) using ATI 2015 bootable Linux media.

Afterwards I have tried to read the Comment using ATI 2015 both in Windows & the Linux bootable media,
but can't find anywhere where it allows me to read the Comment entered during backup.

The Linux bootable media for ATI 2015 in Recovery section allows you to select a backup, & if you
Right-click the backup it shows 'Edit Comment', but if you select it Nothing happens.

Where & how can I read & ?change the backup's Comment (in both Windows & Bootable media)?

Thank you Very Much,
George

To read comment in Windows:

1. Highlight the backup.
2. Click Operations and select Edit settings.
3. Click Options.
4. Click Advanced tab.
5. Click Backup comments.

In bootable media (both Linux and WinPE):

I just did what you said. When I right clicked the backup and selected Edit comments, a box opened with the comment ready to be edited. Are you looking at an incremental or differential backup? The comment will not be available in the recovery media.

Good Day Paul,

I did a complete system disk backup using the bootable Linux media (not incremental or differential).

In the Linux bootable media when I right click the backup and select Edit Comment nothing pops up or happens.
Except that beside the backup name, my Comment contents appear all shown in the one line (inline with the backup name).

In Windows I had to first add the backup to ATI 2015.
I did this by selecting Backup, then Add Backup -> Add Existing Backup -> then pointed it to my backup set.
Then:
(1) Highlighted the backup.
(2) Clicked Operations and selected Reconfigure (there is No Edit Settings option).
(3) Clicked Options.
(4) Clicked Advanced tab.
(5) Clicked Backup Comment BUT there is No comment there.

What is going on?, what am I doing wrong?

Btw, is there any other way to look at the backup's comment?

Thank you Very Much,
George

It looks like you made the original disk full backup from the recovery media. I tested on a backup made from Windows. That appears to be why we see different results.

I don't know of any other way to look at the comments.

Hi Paul,

Thank you Very Much for your help.

It would be nice for Acronis Tech Support to supply an answer to my problem, as this issue makes ATI 2015 USELESS for backing up my system, as I can't access the Backup's Comment afterwards (used for documenting each and every backup).

But Unfortunately Acronis tech support seems to be essentially absent from this forum.

Thank You,

George
