Do the backup tasks reserve extra space on the HDD ?
In sept 2014 i Upgraded to Acronis True Image 2015, from True Image 2013. However I found the 2013-issue easier to work with so I went back to that one, which I still am using:
Now I have the following problem:
It seems that after installation and having created backups, space on the HDD (C:) is gradually being used up. 3-4 weeks ago, about 40Gb was showing as free space. Now only 2.5Gb is available and there is no apparent reason for it.
The computer appears to be running normally, aside from this.
Properties on the C-drive show 183Gb used and the C-drive is set to 186Gb size.
Checking properties of the files on the C-drive, the data is counted up only to 90Gb.
This indicates that some sw is reserving the space and I'm wondering if True Image might have something to do with it.
The C-drive is not set as the target for any of the backups that have been created. All backups made through True Image are saved to one of three external HDDs.
Does True Image designate space on the HDD so it can not be used by other sw?
Do the scheduled backup tasks reserve any space on the HDD?
Are there any settings that can be changed to make sure that no space on the C-drive is used when the backups are created?

Hakan,
Have a look in the folder located at C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Temp. Do you see a large number of .tmp files that begin with acr followed by 4 random characters and numbers? Do you have a large number of any .tmp files that begin with the same first 3 or 4 letters?

Another path to the temp folder is
c:\user\your user name\AppData\LOCAL\TEMP

A comparing of folders between actual and a backup might be helpful. This lNEXT ink could do that.
GH46. Use "TreeSize Free" to compare 2 partitions sorted by folder size. Treesize Download link

Browser history files and internet files might also be involved.
Have you tried CCleaner utility lately?
