Backup to Cloud

Thread needs solution

I have opted for a years subscription for Acronis cloud as an experiment.
My setup is an SSD ( C: drive) with 70 GB data which I back up to local external HDD takes 5 minutes.

First backup to cloud yesterday, same ssd, same 70 GB data takes over 6 hours!

I expect recovery of the data in the event of dire need will be even slower.
(With no quarantine that the data will be recoverable at all? )

Why is it so slow? /p>
Laptop backup, 43 GB data 11 Hours!

Edit: I have initiated a refund process, hopefully will get a refund.

I just can't be bothered with this. Not worth my time.
Now I cannot even stop or delete the backup process.

I am new to the Acronis cloud backup but not new to backing up to the 'cloud' or files transfer over ftp as well as http and I can tell you that the Acronis transfer speed is pretty darn good in comparisons to others.
Consider also that Acronis transfers are encrypted, many are not.

Local backup is going to always take MUCH less time to perform than transferring data over the internet to another computer, which is what 'cloud' backup/storage is.
This transfer speed is very much dependent on your internet connection as well as your local hardware connections and configurations.

I would suggest you try some other similar service to test as a comparison, Amazon cloud for example so that you can make a more educated decision.
