Image already mounted?

Thread needs solution

I am running True Image Home 2010 on windows 7 pro.

I had an archive mounted, but no longer. I can't unmount it (nothing shows up), and I can't remount it (says already mounted).

I have rebooted. And I checked that my acronis services are running properly.

Anything else to try?

Also, when I mounted it originally, I did so as read/write. So another archive was created. When I can re-mount this, do I mount the original archive? Or the new one? Or does it matter?

Scott:

When you mount an archive as read/write, TI will create an incremental image that contains all of the changes you make to the archive while mounted. The original archive is not modified.

I'm not sure why you cannot remount this, but on a hunch you could try deleting the incremental image file that was created on your first mount to see if that will allow you to re-mount the archive.

When this works correctly, you can click on either archive to mount it. The GUI will give you a choice of which version to mount (the original date or the latest date).

I’m sorry to bump this old thread, but I’m having the exact same issue.

There’s an image I mounted once but it’s not mounted anymore. Even after reboot, whenever I try to mount it again, TI says the image is already mounted. I checked that unmounting dialog in the main application (the one with the list of currently mounted images), but nothing is mounted.

I also tried what Mark suggested (deleting any additional incremental archives), but it didn’t help.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Good news, I discovered a workaround.
If using Windows 7, find "mounted.xml" in "C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Database" and just delete it. :)

Thanks very much everyone. Once again, the users solve the problem. Wouldn't get help from Acronis on this in my lifetime!

2 years later and still a relevant post! Thanks so much. I would never have found it by myself.

The same problem had been driving me mad for several days. Thank you so much - this enabled me to sort it out instantly

Amazing that this bug hasn't been addressed in the several updates (and full upgrades) of TI since this thread was started nearly 4 years ago! Thank you, Buoysel, for the workaround [post #3, above].

HI, I am having this problem in XP (image already mounted) and I cannot find the file mounted.xml. I also cannot delete the image version. Does anyone know how i can fix this?

I am also having this problem. Mounted archives also only persist for about a minute before vanishing.
