External drive letters change & confuse Acronis & cause me problems
I'm running Windows 7 and the latest TrueImage build.
I have 4 internal HD's and 4 external HD's that connect with USB or eSATA connections, 2 USB & 2 eSATA. The external drives are usually left off until I want to do a backup. When I want to do a cbackup and turn the external drive one, sometimes the same drive has a drive path of "H:" and sometimes it's "I:" depending on when I turn the drive on and/or start/restart windows with one or more drive(s) turned on.
I want to direct TrueImage to the correct backup location, which path may now show a different drive letter, and perform the incremental backup. OR change the drive path to what is correct at the time I have turned on the external HD and now want to perform the backup.
TrueImage does not like this. It appears there is little or no flexibility when it comes to "on the fly" adjustments in drive paths for backups. Or in naming the backup. This has caused much wasted time.
My abit IP35 Pro motherboard is fairly old and my JMicron eSATA driver works, but it's not the best, which is why I think I have some less than perfectly stable behavior from my eSATA connected drives. BIOS is set for AHCI mode.
Any helpful comments?

You can make it easier to id the various drives by changing the volume label to something you can recognize. Acronis Disk Director 12 can do this if you cannot find another method.
