ATI 2014 incremental method with auto clean up-not cleaning up
I have ATI 2014
-- (Win XP, Dell XPS 400), backing up the C: Drive (Maxtor 7V250FO)
I have ATI set to Incremental method with auto cleanup:
-- Create a full version after every 3 incremental versions
-- Store no more than 4 recent version chains
The pictures (file attachment in the .DOC file) show:
-- ATI 2014: There may not be enough free space
-- Disk Backup Options
-- File display of Buffalo-LBU3 backup drive with 4 chains of one full plus 3 incremental
-- Backup by Sector/Unallocated space
So what is preventing ATI from auto-cleanup to make room for new backups?

Hi GroverH-
I will follow your suggestions, which looks like will work. I have deleted backup files before.
I looked at currently available space in which I have 114GB available. So auto cleanup would never work since I will always have some space available, but not sufficient, meaning the quota would not be exceeded prior to the 5th backup; thus, I would never get this to auto-clean. this quota seems to get exceed during the 5th backup, yes?
Thanks for you immediate response. I will give it try this weekend, and if any questions, I will post them. Again, thanks.

If you your scheme has a retention quota of 3 chains rather than 4, you shoulod have enough space for it to work normally
