How do I restore from a backup created by a previous version of True Imabe
I installed True Image 2016 on a new computer and need to restore some files from a backup made with True Image 2013 that is on a NAS drive. The Acronis 2016 UI is so minimal it seems to provide no way to search for previous backups. How do I find the functionality that allows me to a) Locate the backup and b) Restore from the backup.

Roy,
You should be able to do this. Your NAS should appear under Network in the Directory tree seen on the left of the GUI screen after choosing to recover files and folders.
I think your issue at this point is however that no backups appear on the GUI at all so the app does not give you an option to recover anything. Click on the Add Backup located at the bottom of the center section of the GUI. Three choices should appear, Entire PC, Disks and partitions, and Files and folders. Choose Files and folders since that is what you are looking for. You should now see the directory tree I mentioned above. Choose Network by clicking on it the click on the plus sign to the left of the Network entry and be patient. Devices that are on your network should appear momentarily. If your NAS does not appear in the resulting list of devices then click in the address bar at the top of the GUI located under the Backup source title. In this box type the location of your NAS on the network. You can use either the host name of your device or the IP address of the device. You must use the following format in order to get the device to show up in the list (\\mynas\). Or in the case of an IP address (\\192.168.1.XXX\).
Once your device appears in the list you should be able to drill down to find your backups. You may need to provide the username and password for your NAS is such exists. Once you have located the desired backup(s) select them and add to the list. You should now be able to recover them as needed by clicking on the desired backup and going through the same steps basically as above to get to your desired files/folders.
