Created a WinPE disk using Windows 10 ADK and something odd happens!

Thread needs solution

I was thinking of purchasing either an Intel 750 series PCIE card or the Samsung 950 m.2.  I have been reading the threads thoroughly and saw where the drivers for both are contained in the Windows 10 ADK.  So I downloaded it and created a new WinPE flash drive using the Win 10 ADK.

If I boot into the flash drive via UEFI, I get an error message...see attached!

However, If I choose to boot into the non UEFI using legacy mode...the program runs.  Something odd going on?  I used the link to download the older version of Windows 10 ADK...

Some system specs:

Asus X99-A motherboard with i7 5820K

16 GB of GSKill DDR4-2400

Samsung 840 Pro (512GB) as C:

Toshiba 2TB 7200 rpm hdd as D:

Also...I have a created USB stick using Windows 8.1 adk NO ERRORS!  Works every time.

This has been reported use Win 8.1 ADK instead, it has the driver files as well.

I already have that one and it never fails UEFI.  Question...is the Win10 ADK WinPE drive still OK to use?  It boots fine if not UEFI?

Thanks

You should boot the WinPE UEFI. If you boot non-UEFI, TI will convert GPT disks to MBR when doing a full disk restore. This will result in a non bootable restored disk.

You can use the disk you have. You have some options to boot it UEFI:

1. Disabling Secure Boot in the BIOS will work.

2. If you leave Secure Boot enabled, hit the F8 key when you get to the screen with the digital signature error. Then hit the F7 key to disable driver signature enforcement and the boot will continue.
