SSD to SSD clone fails but no error number

Thread needs solution

I have the latest TI2016, have installed the blank SSD (1 TB) in the Dell 6430u laptop, have the old 256 GB SSD in a USB adapter and boot from the eSATA CD/DVD drive. When I try to clone, I go through all the steps but it starts and in less than a minute a popup comes up saying Cloning Failed, but there is no other message, error number- NADA.

What do I do now? How to I transfer my 256GB Win 10 Ultimate to the new SSD 1 TB drive?

Thanks

Steve, as an alternative to doing a clone of your 256GB SSD to your 1TB SSD, you can also use Backup and Restore by creating a full disk backup of your smaller SSD drive to an external HDD (ensure that you include all partitions by selecting to show the Full partition list), then restore that disk backup to your new large SSD drive from the external HDD.

This could all be done from within the Windows ATIH GUI application and leaves your original SSD untouched as a failsafe, assuming that you can connect both the new SSD and your external HDD together.
