Cloning Hard Disk?
Hey,
Bought Acronis True Image 2015 a while back now, never actually got round to using it.
Recently my main HDD for programs and games etc (OS is on its own SSD) got quite full, so decided to buy a new HDD double the size and clone my old one to the new. I assumed that was a pretty simple task, turns out its not :p
Can this even be done?
I tried following the cloning options and once I get to the stage where it restarts and boots into Acronis, all I get is a message titled "Acronis Bootable agent is waiting for removable devices". I click Yes and let it wait, then it comes up again, and again. Its just stuck here.
Any Advice?
Thanks
Stuart

Thanks for the reply.
I tried using the bootable media too but had no joy there either. It wouldn't show any drives other than my SSD and the usb I booted from.
Would the method you suggested be effectingly clothing the drive also? I have an absolute ton of programs installed (its a 2TB drive and its full), so I really don't want to have to be reinstalling them all?
Thanks

Stuart, yes the method should be the equivalent of cloning the drive.
The most likely cause of the bootable media not seeing your drives is that it doesn't have the necessary device drivers for the hardware involved. One way around this is to create the Windows PE Rescue Media via the Rescue Media Builder tool - the WinPE media will either recognise your devices or you will need to modify it to add the necessary device drivers as per post: 100770: Guide to Add Drivers to WinPE Recovery Media
Please check that the size of your new HDD drive is supported by your system.
