Can schedule backup but if ATI is not running it won't do backup

Thread needs solution

I have ATI 2017 build 5554.  It's up to date as of today.

I can schedule a backup and it runs just fine as long as I keep ATI running. But if I close ATI, I lose the schedule I've set and have to create it again.

Does ATI have to stay running to keep its set schedule?

Other backup programs I've used, e.g. Nero Backup, don't require the program to be running to do a scheduled backup.

I feel like I must be missing some setting--I'll be surprised if ATI has to stay running to retain its schedule. Even if it won't start up itself and run based on a schedule, it should still keep the schedule I set up previously.

I've looked through all the Faqs I could find and searched the Forum but I can't seem to find anything that addresses this question.

BAR, welcome to these user forums.

You should not need to keep ATI running in order to have your scheduled tasks run provided that you have the Acronis Scheduler2 Service enabled and active.

See KB document: 56697: Acronis True Image 2016: Services and Processes which shows a list of the main services and programs involved in ATIH - the document hasn't been updated for 2017 yet but shows all the items involved for your question.

When you installed ATIH 2017 did you do so as Administrator?  If not this could be a contributing factor due to the application not having the required privileges needed unless the application is actually open.

Thanks Steve.

I did install it as the Administrator.

I closed ATI and then checked Task Manager and Acronis Scheduler Service, Acronis Scheduler2 Service, and Acronis Scheduler Service Help. All are running.

However, when I restarted ATI it didn't have any schedule. i.e. the do not schedule box was checked. Seems to me my previous settings should be there.

I'll check tomorrow to make sure the backup didn't run before I post anything else. It's my wife's computer that I installed ATI on (I have an iMac) so I need to make an extra effort to monitor ATI's performance. However, several times now I've noticed that it's not backing up as I had scheduled.
