With bootdisk USB or CD for restore, my PC freeze after "Loading, please wait ..."
Hello,
I just installed Acronis True Image 2017. My PC is equipped with a Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 motherboard in BIOS mode. I created a bootable USB key. When I boot on this USB support, I get the main menu, I choose the restore option for example, then after + - 1 minute the message "Loading, please wait ..." and then nothing happens, I have to reset the PC. I tried adding the option acpi = off noapic but it does not change anything at all. However, on another PC this key works, but it takes 4 minutes. On the other hand, the bootable key USB Acronis 2014 working properly.
Thank you for your help

Also, does this board have legacy/CSM and UEFI support? If so, make sure you boot the media in the proper mode - UEFI or legacy, to match your OS install.
I have a Gigabyte board (newer z170x and before that a z77x board) and the linux media works, but I'm using the embedded graphics and not a third party video card. I recently found that the Linux media will not work if I give it more than 512Mb for the embedded graphics. When using the WinPE, I can use as much memory for the graphics as necessary.
Personally, I would stick with the WinPE media even thought you have to go through the process of downloading and installing the windows ADK first. Once installed, pick the top 3 options (roughly 3.4Gb) and then you can build winPE rescue media which will have much better driver support "out of the box".
Plus, we've developed an MVP winpe builder .bat script that adds in a bunch of nice tools and some IRST drivers and it makes adding other custom drivers much easier so that any hardware can be supported with drivers supplied by the user.
Grab the Windows 10 ADK (it can be installed on Win 7 - Win10) and the MVP winpe tool using my links below and give it a test. I think you'll like it.

Hello,
Sorry if my English is not very good, but I use a web translator.
So, I downloaded ADK and I generated a bootdisk USB Windows PE.
From the beginning, I get the message "Disk error. Press any key for resart »
Also, it seems that my Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 motherboard works either with the BIOS or with the EFI (not the UEFI)
By typing MSInfo32 I can see that in fact we are in "Inherited BIOS" mode (legacy BIOS I suppose). Also, I am not a champion of computing and I must not make manipulations too complicated
On my 3 PCs, only this one does not work with bootdisk ACRONIS 2016 or 2017. One observation, and I want to say, with a USB bootdisk USB PARAGON 15 of a friend, I have no problem! I'm tempted to think that there is still a problem with Acronis, that's a shame! Maybe I need to change my PC or adopt PARAGON? Anyway thank you for your help.

How are you creating the boot disk - are you using a third party tool to burn the .iso to the flash drive, or building with with the Acronis rescue media builder directly to the USB flash drive?
Please format your usb flash drive completely (not just a quick format) and then build it again. I'm sure it will boot then. I have not problem booting the rescue media on any computer I've ever tried and I've tried MANY (I work in an IT office and we have all kinds of different computers - new and old.).
Acronis does not format the flash drive before it builds the rescue media. If another tool was used to build the rescue media (for instance, RUFUS), or if you have created a bootable flash drive with another tool, it's most liekly that the hidden system volume parition on the flash drive is not being recreated during the rescue media build. By doing a full format of the flash drive (not a quick one), that will force the hidden partition to be wiped as well and then when you build the rescue media, it should work again.
I might also suggest, that just to be on the safe side, that you do a repair installation of your Acronis application. Re-download the latest version from your account. Once downloaded, be sure to right-click on the installer and select the option to "run as administrator" even if you are already logged in as admin. This is the key-point as that is the only way to get full administrative access for an installation of any installer. Acronis is tightly integrated with Windows and this is especially important as it needs access to System files and services that most other applications do not.

Hello, and thank you for your attention to my problem.
I think I have complied with all of your recommendations. That is what I have just done.
- I just took another USB 2, a SanDisk 4GB. (we never know)
As an administrator, I did:
Diskpart> listdisk> select disk 5> clean> create partition primary
Then I formatted (not fast)
I also repaired Acronis 2017 as an administrator.
So I created an "Acronis Bootable rescue Media"
Look at the images in appendix
I booted my PC
With the bootdisk Acronis on USB key 2017, after the boot there is the message "Starting Acronis loader ..." followed by the first menu page. I click on the first point of the menu, wait maybe 2 or 3 minutes, then comes a black screen, a few seconds, then a message "Loading, please wait ..." and then blocking the PC.
So the problem is still there.
Thank you again

Good news.
I finally managed to create a USB key WinPe (ADK) and it works now. I do not know where I made a mistake on my first try.
Sorry to have consumed your time. Long live in Acronis_

Just a guess here but many users have had issue with some SanDisk USB thumb drives working properly when used for bootable rescue media. Some of the SanDisk thumb drives report themselves as fixed rather than removeable media and that causes issues with the media.
I suggest that if you want or need the standard Linux based recovery media that you try another brand/model of thumb drive or use a different tool to prep the drive prior to creating the rescue media. My goto app for that is RMPrep USB tool.
Since you have had success creating the WinPE version a Linux version is not necessary as the WinPE version will work for your needs.

Glad to hear it. The formatting of the thumb drive may have been the ticket. Regardless you have a good bootalbe recovery media you can use now and that's the main thing. It should be pretty easy to build it again (if, for some reason you need to), know that you have the ADK components and know how to do this already.
