task starts not as planned
My English is not the best and I hope I get it to make myself clear.
Acronis True Image Home 2010 (ATI) and Win 7:
I set up a task to run once a day at 19:00.
But the task starts only when ATI ist running or, if ATI has not been started, at system shutdown.
The task runs error free.
What do I overlook or misunderstand?
Thanks

Thanks.
I checked it this evening: No start even if not in standby.
But starts as soon as ATI is beeing started.

Meanwhile I found some new information.
Scheduler2 = AcrSch2Svc and non-stop-backup = afcdpsrv are up having status: "automatisch" and "wird ausgeführt" (automatic and running ??). So I think this is ok.
??? What else could be the reason for the tasks not being started ???

Look at this link. I found it while searching the forum (search function at the top)

Do you using a password inside the task scheduler? It seems to work best when a password is used.
When you run the task manually, are you using the same login as when the task was created?
Have you tried creating a new task.
I do not use Win 7 so I I cannot help more.

I know the link.
Sounds exactly as my problem, but is ATI 2009. I don't see a reason to download the scheduler anew.
Do you using a password inside the task scheduler?
If you mean the scheduler2: No, because I didn't install it myself. Obviously it was installed as part of the ATI installation.
If you mean the task setup: No. But if I did, why should the scheduler2 start the task then? But I'll try this today just to be safe.

A new scheduler was released in June. It is NOT included in the Version 2010 build 7046 download or current install.
scheduler416.exe
You can find it at this link.

Thanks for the tip.
I have installed the new scheduler. And of course did a reboot. But no success.

Now create a new task and use a administrator password on the task schedule page. As I stated, I do not have Win7 so I cannot be more specific to your needs.

GroverH,
thanks for the patience. I hope you don't capitulate.
No success so far.
While I'm writing this, an idea came into my mind: Why is there not a single line of log-file??
If the password was the reason, why is there not something like "wrong password"
Doesn't this mean that the scheduler doesn't start at all??
There is one user (+ admin) on the system. Username is abc.
ATI runs as admin (one of the properties of ATI (I don't know for sure the corresponding word of the german word "Eigenschaften"))
user's name of task is abc. Password ist admin's password thought I don't understand this because in this case the admin's password has to be given to the user. But in my case that doesn't matter of course.
And, yes, I've also tried with abc's password.

I think I should tell you of my success after all:
Again I created a new task with the same source directory to be saved, but to another(!) target directory. And this works. The scheduler starts the task in time. I've tried several times.
Ok, this answers the question concerning the schduler's start.
And, well, I don't understand this behavior.
Perhaps there was a mix of faulty operations, but I don't know which one.
Thanks again for the patience GroverH.

Thank you. I'm glad you found a workaround.
