Acronis Home 2012 Backup Issue

I have Acronis Home 2012 Update 2.1 build 7133

Never had an issue until now, the program is set to backup weekly at 7pm on Sundays and incremental is selected as the backup scheme, however, whats happening now, is that every Sunday not only does it do an incremental backup, it also carries out a full backup and to make things worse, it does both twice, you can imagine how fast that issue is filling up the storage drive.

No matter what I try I cannot prevent this from reoccurring, any advice please on how to get the program back to normal

Robert, welcome to these user forums.

ATIH 2012 is now 5 years old and is not supported for use on any Windows OS beyond Windows 7, so perhaps it is approaching the time when you should consider upgrading.

For your specific problem, there could be a number of reasons for the behaviour that you are reporting, but without more information from the log files for your backup task it is difficult to know with any certainty.

I would suggest creating a new backup task with a new name and being backed up to a folder with a different name on your backup drive.  Start that new backup task going, then remove the old backup task using the options within the Acronis GUI.  You do not need to delete your backup files created by the old task unless you are doing so to make more room on the drive.

If you still have problems after trying the above, then I would suggest doing a Repair install - which means to simply reinstall the ATIH 2012 program over the top of your existing program.
