Acronis 2016 Build 6595 Missing TIB

Thread needs solution

After a backup, a full backup, the program completes and the TIB is in the folder. Close Acronis or reboot, come back later, open folder, TIB is GONE. (no matter how big or small the file)?

We formatted hard drive and even install a brand new hard drive, install Windows 10 Home Premium 64 fresh, clean install with all Windows updates, download and install new version of Acronis 2016, complete a couple of backups, full backups. Shut machine down. Start up, go back to folder, TIP is GONE!

Acronis is unreliable.

Paul, welcome to these User Forums.

How are you doing the Acronis backup?  Is this using the Acronis bootable Rescue media, or are you doing this from the main ATIH 2016 Windows application?

If it is from the Acronis Rescue media, then how did you start this?  Did you just Shutdown Windows 10 or did you do a Restart then boot from the media?

The reason for this question is that when we have seen this type of problem before, it has been caused by running backups from the Rescue media when Windows is actual in a hybrid sleep / hibernation state, so that any changes to the NTFS filesystem are lost when Windows resumes from this state.  If this is the case, then if you boot again from the Rescue Media you may be able to see the missing .TIB file when browsing for backups to Recover.

If this is all happening with the Acronis Windows application running fully within Windows 10, then it is very strange and I would recommend downloading the MVP Log Viewer tool to check what messages are being written to the log file(s) for your backup task?
