how to manage individual backups

Thread needs solution

true image home2017. windows 10

i just need to do one thing.

i want to be able to view all of my daily backups. the full ones and differentials. and to delete those i wish to delete. much like the view i have in file explorer. where they are all clear and organized. (but i know not to use file explorer to delete backups).

i can find no way on the dashboard or elsewhere to do this. it should be simple. i don't get it.

thank you

feivel, there is no method provided within the ATIH 2017 GUI panel to allow you to manually delete individual differential files other than by using the Automatic cleanup options on the Backup Scheme page for your task that creates these files, and then this only works on completed backup version chains, i.e. the full backup image plus all associated differential files before the next full backup image.

You can delete files using file explorer, but if you do so, then you also need to run a Validation for the backup task as this is then needed to reconcile the Acronis metadata database information with the state of remaining files on your backup drive.  Validation will give you a pop-up error message for each missing / deleted file that you need to take the Ignore option for.

well that sure was a clear and comprehensive answer. thank you

is some sort of backup browser/ manager planned for future versions, or is it not practical?

i just went to the program.

i see how to valdate automatically after a backup, and also on a schedule.

i dont see any way to validate manually.

Click the drop down arrow next to the backup task name from the backup task list. Select Validate there.
