Can some of the process and startup entries be disabled?

Thread needs solution

Hi again. :)

Although Acronis True Image has a lot of cool and useful features I find myself only to use the standard manual backup. I don't schedule backups and I don't do anything else than manual backups (yeah, I know it's kind of a waste of the program, but that's how I roll on this PC :D).

This being said I would like to optimize my PC at the maximum without having unused process in my memory's system.

What can I disable?
In the startup list I see:
- Acronis True Image Scheduling (..\Acronis\Schedule2\schedhlp.exe)
- Acronis True Image Status Display (..\Acronis\TrueImageHome\TrueImageMonitor.exe)

In the Services I found these set to automatic and currently running:
- Acronis Nonstop Backup service: provides nonstop backup for partitions of the computer. (..\Acronis\CDP\afcdpsrv.exe)
- Acronis Scheduler2 Service: Task scheduling for Acronis applications. (..\Acronis\Schedule2\schedul2.exe )

Can I just disable both the startup entries (I prefer to disable rather then remove them so that I can quickly and easily restore them when in need) and set both the services to "manual"?

Thank you.

You can stop or disable all of them but various ATI functions will not behave properly.

Take a look here, e.g.,

None of the startups and services use appeciable memory when ATI isn't running, but if you're really serious about running as clean as possible, then make a BootCD and then uninstall ATI and scrub anything "Acronis", "Trueimage" and "Fomatik" from the registry and do all your backups and restores from the BootCD. Then ATI won't have anything running when win is running, not even one bit of one byte in memory or on disk.

Awesome. Thanks for the detailed and helpful reply Scott! I appreciate it. :)

Have a great day.
