which of the two will make an effort?

Thread needs solution

ACRONIS is a paid program, I am amazed to see basic programs work with the preview insider releases? I do not think that microsoft will be limited to make every effort to save acronis.

George, not sure what point you are wanting to make here in this User Forum.

Yes, Acronis is a paid program for the full version of Acronis True Image and it is also a very complicated program that operates at a very low level within the Windows OS, so comparing it to how 'basic programs work with the preview insider releases' is not a fair comparison.

I can attest that both ATI and Macrium Reflect (Free) were both broken by the recent Insiders builds 17017 and 17025 as I tested both to confirm this on my computer running those builds.

I can also attest that ATI is working fine with the current Insiders build 17035 and Acronis made zero changes to their code to get ATI working again.

Acronis have produced KB 60589: Acronis True Image: Windows Insider Program (beta) builds support to state their official position on this subject after a number of users raised Support cases for problems encountered when running ATI 2017 & 2018 on Insider Builds (including myself).

georges...I am also not sure of the point you are trying to make.

I am sure that the MPVs and other users on this forum have no knowledge of any proprietary agreements between Acronis and Microsoft.  However, I would expect that Acronis, as well as other software vendors, would have access to early releases of Microsoft OS updates, so that Acronis can find any issues regarding True Image operations that could be affected by the OS update.  And as Steve Smith states, Acronis have an active beta test program to support this effort.

Regarding your original question "Which of the two will make an effort?"

Acronis is solely responsible for keeping True Image, and all of their other software products, running.

Georges, I am now running Insiders build 17040 installed over night and all is still fine with ATI 2018 for me.
