Cloning
I just completed a SSD clone / swap. I must say that I was scared to do it. I read my butt off, watched videos, etc. There were some REAL GOOD instructions here - I followed a nice Write-up from Enchantech that was posted in '15. He said it was 'Dead Simple' - and it was. Moved from a 250 SSD to a 500 and things seem to be working.
My question is.... I watched a very good video on SSD life expectancy. The guy knew his stuff for sure. He recommended keeping a 10% 'buffer' on the drive to help reduce P/E cycles that cause stress. Made sense to me. Is there an acronis tool that I can use to Un-Allocate (i guess?) a portion of my new drive. Would anyone here say that's worth doing?
Thanks all - this is a good forum - some people here are very generous with their time & talent. I sure do appriciate it!!

Good info as always, Steve.
I have the Acronis Disk Manager Stuff. I thought that would let me reserve some space for the P/E crunch.
I will read and follow your instructions. - you are THE MAN
Thanks

Mike,
I wouldn't bother with the 10% drive space allocation as modern SSD's makers build in a 10% over provisioning of drive space to address performance concerns.
Glad you found the Clone procedure "Simple"
