Delete backup to cloud reference?

Thread needs solution

I don't use Acronis cloud. How can I delete the reference to it in my list of backups? The delete option is greyed out.

Brian, sorry but I am not sure that I understand your question here?

If you are not using Acronis Cloud / do not have a Cloud subscription to allow use, then you should not have any backup tasks that show the Cloud as the Destination?

A screen shot may help us understand this better..  a picture being worth 1000 words?

Brian, thanks for the screen shot, this shows that you probably had a 30-day trial of Acronis Cloud at some point and which has now expired.  Normally, any cloud backup will be deleted 30 days after the expiry of the trial or the end of a subscription, so should disappear from the Cloud after that point.

There are a couple of things that you can try to get the defunct backup task removed from the listing.

Use the option to Open Online Dashboard shown on the Account page in the ATI GUI and see if you get an option there to remove or delete the old backup.

Alternatively, navigate to C:\Program Data\Acronis\TrueImageHome\OnlineBackup and remove the contents of this folder.  Probably best to do this when you do not have ATI open or active.
Note: you may need to sign-in again on the ATI Account page in the GUI after removing the data here.  You will see a folder with your email address as the name in this location.

You may also need to navigate to C:\Program Data\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts and check each of the XML script files found there - open these one by one in a text editor such as Notepad, and look for one which has the name of your backup task shown near the top of the text inside <display>ELROND</display> brackets.

Thanks again Steve. I have a large, full backup running at the moment so I'll work through that when it has finished and I can close ATI.

B.

I have found the folders you mentioned Steve however I cannot delete the files because I am blocked from doing this because I need administrator's permission. I am the admin. Frustrating. Any pointers?

Brian, turn off Acronis Active Protection using the system tray icon temporarily and then retry the file delete.  AAP will protect all ATI files if active.

Switched off Active Protection and was able to delete the files you suggested OK. Listing has now gone from my backups. Thank you for your patience Steve.

Incidentally I don't get a system tray icon. Why might that be?

Brian, the AAP system tray icon should be present if the AAP Service is running / active but you may need to check with your Taskbar notification settings in case the icon is set to be hidden by default?
